Health Policy Monitor

Since 2003, the department of Health Care Management has been a member of the International Network Health Policy &Reform. This network brings together health policy experts from 20 industrialized countries and is managed by the Bertelsmann Stiftung. Every six months, the experts report and comment on selected health policy trends, developments and innovative policy solutions from their countries. For this purpose, a semi-standardized questionnaire was developed and agreed upon in cooperation with all network partners. The findings from the Healthcare Monitor are intended to capture healthcare policy developments in the partner countries. They can be used to inform policy makers and for further scientific research and analysis. The homepage provides an elaborated description of the network, the partners and the applied methodology.

In 2011, the Health Policy Monitor network was merged with the Observatory [8] network. The observatory is developing a new country monitoring website, which will integrate HiTs, policy-related contributions similar to HPM material to date, articles and a news/blog section as well as an extended search function. Some pilots with individual countries are underway.
