Joan Kleine has been working as a Research Fellow at the Department of Health Care Management (MiG) at TU Berlin since December 2020.
As a trained nurse, she has many years of professional experience in intensive care departments in various German hospitals. Joan completed her bachelor's degree in health sciences (B.Sc.) from 2014 to 2016 at the Charité Berlin. From 2018 to 2020 she studied Public Health (M.Sc.) at the Berlin School of Public Health (BSPH), an amalgamation of Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Alice Salomon Hochschule, and Technische Universität Berlin.
Her main interests include health service research and evidence-based health policy. In her master's thesis, Joan dealt with the transfer of a US concept (Magnet®) for the redesign of the work environment in hospitals to promote the mental health and well-being of health professionals, to increase their productivity and thus to improve outcomes of the patients under their care. At the Department of Health Care Management, she continues to work on this topic as part of the projects Magnet4Europe , Magnet-Pionier-Studie  and Magnetkrankenhäuser .
