Dr. Nora Gottlieb, MSc

Nora Gottlieb

Nora Gottlieb is a IPODI/Marie Curie postdoctoral fellow at the department of health systems management since May 1st 2016. She spent the previous year as a Fulbright postdoctoral fellow at the University of Illinois at Chicago. In 2013, Nora accomplished her PhD on the political decision-making processes on migrants’ health entitlements in Germany and in Israel at Ben-Gurion University, Beer Sheva/Israel. Prior to and during her dissertation, she worked for the organization Physicians for Human Rights – Israel, namely to questions related to health care for asylum seekers, labor migrants, statusless persons and minority women. In 2005, she completed a Master degree in International Health at Charité Medical School Berlin/European TropEd Network (with coursework at the University College London, Queen Margaret University Edinburgh and Heidelberg University, thesis title: ““Access to Antenatal Care in the Unrecognized Bedouin Arab Villages in South Israel”).

  • structural determinants of health
  • health inequities
  • the role of evidence and research for political decision-making processes
  • ethical concepts in public health
  • participatory research approaches
